Overview
One actor and only one line of dialogue. Sometimes you have to have a little creative fun. And this is how Rendezvous emerged.
The film follows an elderly man who has quietly withdrawn from life. One morning he notices an entry in his calendar: a rendezvous, scheduled for today. We follow him out into the city, through parks and streets, carried by his hopes and the quiet anticipation of what might be waiting for him.
Challenges & Approach
We had two spontaneous shooting days with a crew of thirteen and with a little creative help from everyone on set, we shaped something together. The shoot moved between a Berlin apartment and the city itself, catching the light and life of the streets as we found them.
The visual language felt obvious from the start. Zoom lenses, grain and analogue film simulation gave Rendezvous the warmth and texture the story needed. Something a little worn and tender. Very 70s. Very right.
The result
A quiet, tender film about hope and the courage it takes to leave the house for it.
We are just now finishing the last details in post and Rendezvous will be available to watch soon.
